Since 2008, Gamers involved in Extra Life have been playing games and healing kids treated at Freeman Health System. Last year alone, Extra Lifers playing for Freeman raised more than $1,000 by simply gaming. Funds raised through programs like Extra Life are used to fund top notch pediatric care for local kids. As we are adjusting to staying safe at home, family game nights are increasing in popularity and can make a real impact. During the coronavirus pandemic, the reality is: Kids Can’t Wait… for a cure, for the curve to flatten or for an economic boost. Play games online and stay connected to loved ones!
Family game night can include your favorite card, board or video games, and backyard games like tag or cornhole! Even though we can’t physically gather together right now, playing games online together is a great way to stay connected. Many game titles have an online version. Check out Board Game Arena for various board games. No need to download anything, you can play directly from a web browser. Steam, a digital gaming platform where you can buy and play games, is another option. They feature games from diverse genres: free-to-play, indie, sports and more.
