Miracle Monday: Meet future rock star, Genevieve!

Genevieve Billings is a fun loving 12 year old who is from the Joplin area. She enjoys classic rock and playing classic rock ballads on the piano. She is currently entering her seventh grade year. When she was in second grade, Genvieve starting experiencing an unexplained rash on her fingers, which eventually spread to both hands and both feet. She began seeking treatment and was diagnosed with Plaque Psoriatic Arthritis and Amplified Pain Syndrome.

She has struggled on and off with wounds on her feet, hands, behind her ears, scalp, elbows, knees, and her ankle. The most severely effected areas being her feet and hands are prone to staph infections.

Thanks to generous donations to your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Freeman Health System, Genevieve received a Daavlin M Series Photo Therapy Unit to allow her to receive daily photo therapy treatments in the comfort of her home. The photo therapy light box has improved Genevieve’s quality of life. She has less hospital visits, less infections, and most of all less pain and inflammation and is able to be more physically active. She is able to play the piano with ease and less pain. She recently rocked her recital like a champ with Queens “We are the Champions”. Genevieve’s mom, Brooks, thanks supporters of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for being “Genevieve’s champions.”
