Celebrate National Video Games Day and Signup for Extra Life

Since 2008, Gamers involved in Extra Life have been playing games and healing kids treated at Freeman Health System. Last year alone, Extra Lifers playing for Freeman raised more than $1,000 by simply gaming. Funds raised through programs like Extra Life are used to fund top notch pediatric care for local kids!

On November 2nd, Extra Life, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising program, is hosting their annual 24-hour Game Day broadcast and we want to share how YOU can get involved:

  • Register to Play games, Heal kids at extra-life.org/register and select Freeman Health System.
  • Pledge to play games and ask your friends and family to donate.
  • You can play whatever game(s) you like for however long you want on whatever console, platform or place.
  • Not a gamer but still want to help? Donate to a participant’s page or share about the event on your social media channels.

Find all the resources and best practices you need to make your Extra Life experience the best.

When you pledge to play games, heal kids, you’re helping kids like Connor.

Connor and his twin brother, Caleb, were born prematurely at 25 weeks. As soon as he was born, Connor was immediately taken to the Freeman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit while doctors tried to resuscitate his brother who, sadly, didn’t make it.

Connor was a tiny fighter when he came into this world weighing just 1lb 13.3oz. Despite being diagnosed on the autism spectrum, Connor is now a happy and healthy teenager. He loves to read, watch YouTube, draw, and of course play video games. Connor’s mother is appreciative of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, “God’s grace and mercy gave us this miracle, and with Children’s Miracle Network by our side, things were easier.”
